Frequently Asked Questions
Why should I choose this method?
It uses a natural substance that is found in the body and in the food chain. It is not aggressive and does not use any nasty chemicals.
Laser has improved considerably in recent years but it can damage the pigment of the skin and will not re-pigment leaving you with a white tattoo. It also does not always remove certain colours, particularly green. Clients who have previously had laser say that this is far less painful. It is also less painful on the pocket! In this instance it is not a case of the most expensive being the best.
There is a risk of scarring but we carry out a full scar risk assessment before commencing treatment.
I have seen many people who have had 5 or 6 laser treatments and their tattoo is still very visible. Generally you will see ink free skin after the first session. Our system draws the ink back out of the skin. It has gone in through the skin and comes back out the same way.
Does it hurt?
It is similar to having a tattoo put on. As the machine goes on to the skin it feels sharp but after a few seconds it is quite bearable. I have told people who are worried that if they cannot put up with it I will stop and not charge a penny. So far no one has taken me up on that!
Can you treat all types of skin?
We do not recommend doing this treatment on black skin as there is a high risk of keloid scarring.
On asian and oriental skin there is a risk of the skin marking and in this case we recommend a patch test.
On white skin there is a slight risk of scarring. Usually there is a history of keloid scarring in the family or the client has not followed the after care advise that we give.
We do a full consultation on your first visit and if we have any worries at all we will discuss these with you.
Does Tattoo Erase work on Indian Ink tattoos?
Yes, it is very successful.
Will it definitely work?
As with anything involving the body there are always exceptions and no guarantees can be given. However, if it is not a cover up or had previous removal methods you will know after one treatment whether it is going to work. With cover-ups it may take longer although not always.
Will the skin look like new?
Yes, in the majority of cases. It may take up to two years to re-pigment.
