Tattoo Removal

About the treatment
There is no magic wand that is going to remove a tattoo. A tattoo is supposed to be for life. Our treatment is very successful but you need to be committed as it will take time and money. You also have to be prepared to follow our after-care instructions carefully as that will make a big difference to the outcome.

In ideal circumstances it can leave very little mark or evidence that a tattoo has been there. However, there is no guaranteed method of removing all tattoo pigments without leaving some sort of mark or evidence that something has been there.

On your first visit a full consultation will be carried out. If there is any doubt by either party that the tattoo is suitable for treatment we will tell you or sometimes offer a patch test.

You must be over 18 to have the treatment and not currently pregnant of breastfeeding.

The Treatment Process
Unless the tattoo is very small it cannot be removed in one session. Generally the procedure can be tolerated without any pain relief. It is similar in discomfort to having the tattoo applied. However, you may wish to take some painkillers one hour prior to the treatment. Our equipment removes the top layer of the skin in a series of 'dots' 5 or 6 millimetres in diameter and placed a similar distance apart. The device introduces the releasing fluid into the deeper layers of the skin using medical grade micro needles. This product encourages the body to exclude the pigment of the tattoo from the surrounding skin. A hard scab is then formed on the treated areas over the next 24 hours. All the crusts will fall off over a period of two to three weeks, taking the tattoo pigment with it and leaving healed skin.

The process is repeated until the treatment 'dots' have covered the entire tattooed area and it has been removed. Around 5-7 treatments will be required for an average sized tattoo. Because we are working with the body we need to give it time to recover between each treatment session. Treated areas must be left for a minimum of 12 weeks and sometimes longer before further treatments can be carried out on adjacent areas.

The Result - What to Expect
In the best circumstances the process can remove all pigment, leave very little mark and the skin recover much of its normal pigmentation.

However, there is almost always going to be some evidence that a tattoo was previously there. An invisible result is next to impossible.

A good result will all depend on how deep your tattoo was put into the skin and whether you have a tendency to scar easily at the site on your body where the tattoo was placed.

How much will it cost?
A tattoo the size of a digestive biscuit will take approximately 15 minutes to cover in dots at each session. It will probably take 5-6 sessions. However, a smaller tattoo may only take 2-3 sessions. The sessions are spaced out at approximately 3 monthly intervals to give the skin chance to heal properly.

Satisfied clients

"After applying for my dream job in the RAF I was told I couldn't join up whilst I had a visible tattoo. I then came across Nikki's website whilst looking for the best way to remove a tattoo. After phoning her and being reassured she could help me, I made the trip up there ready for my first treatment. Nikki made me feel at ease almost immediately and explained in detail what she would be doing. I could see a huge difference after one treatment and after a couple more the tattoo has almost completely disappeared. I recently got another interview and am now waiting to hear back. I literally can't thank you enough Nikki you have enabled me to pursue the career i've always wanted to do and I would recommend anyone that wants or needs a tattoo removed to visit Nikki. You won't regret it!" (Rhiannon)

"I have a tattoo on each forearm, both of which were done with Quink Ink and a compass about 30 years ago. They haven’t bothered me until recently, when I started my own business.I feel that people judge me on them, I was very sceptical about Tattoo Erase. I was absolutely delighted though when they started to disappear after my first session." (Tim, 46)

"Well I first went to Nicky about 6-8 months ago, she made me feel at ease straight away, explained everything to me in detail and answered any questions honestly. When I had my first treatment I thought it would be a lot more painful than it was, and compaired to laser removal I have seen the results of, it was not that bad after all. After about a week the scabs dropped off and the skin was pink, within 6 weeks the skin went white again and the colour of the tattoo underneath was gone. I feel the results are definately as good as I could hope for and I am so far very pleased with the results. I am currently about half way through my treatments which I decided to embark on as I am training to be a personal trainer, and I feel the tattoos are not who I am anymore." (Natalie)

"I researched tattoo removal for some time before I settled on this treatment. I have been going to Nikki for some time now and would highly recommend her. The beauty of this treatment is that it removes all colours and is no more painful than having a tattoo done. For years I could not wear a strappy top because of my tattoos but now I can and it feels great." (Doreen)
